Hey @janveres,
Sorry you’re having issues, I’d be happy to help you here! π
First, can you confirm for me that you’ve troubleshooted your Google Maps settings according to this guide, and that you’ve configured the API according to this doc?
Let me know how this goes, and we’ll work from there.
Best,
Shelby π
I also have this problem.
Events added since upgrading to Events Calendar version 4.3.3 do not display a Google map. Events created under previous versions still do show the map. It is not a display problem, it is a create problem since the 4.3.3 upgrade.
Environment is WordPress 4.6.1 running Expound theme.
Thanks-
Susan
Hey @sawatson,
We’d love to help out with this. Per the forum guidelines, could you please open a separate thread so that we can better assist you? π
Best,
Shelby
Hi @shelbelliott
yes, i did it as it is written in the guide and doc. Is there anything else i can try to find what is causing the problem? thank you
jan
Hi @janveres,
I do see some conflicts in the console, but they’re only for the Google Fonts API. Would you be willing to clear those errors? It’s unlikely they are the reason behind this, but I’d at least like to try on the off chance that it helps.
Thanks so much,
Geoff
Hi @geoffgraham, sorry for a delay π I removed the code part related to the bug with Google Fonts API, also I updated the plugin to the newest version, but still without any success. Could we maybe have a skype call and try to look at it together? Thank you and wish all your team a happy new year π
Hi @janveres,
Thanks for following up!
I’m afraid we are unable to hop on a video chat but we’re certainly happy to keep the conversation going here!
Just to rule out any other conflicts, does the map still not display when you switch to a default WordPress theme? Will you please try activating the Twenty Sixteen theme and letting us know if you see the map?
And, while you are at it, please try deactivating all other plugins, except for The Events Calendar, and then checking to see if the map displays.
You can re-activate everything again after checking, of course. This is just a temporary and quick check.
If the map continues to not display, then my hunch is that this is related to hosting. Cam you confirm whether or not you are on a shared hosting plan? The reason I ask is that the Google Maps API allows a maximum number of requests per day and requests from other sites on the same hosting plan can count toward that limit.
Thanks!
Geoff
Hello, as I write in the beginning, the map shows correctly with the Twenty Sixteen theme. The problem seems to be with the old version of Impreza theme, but we cant update it due to expired paid support. Please did you meet with this kind of problem and do you know how to make it work correctly? thank you very much
jan
Hey Jan,
Thanks for working through the suggestions Geoff sent, that’s super helpful! π
Since the maps function works with Twenty-Sixteen, I’d suggest reaching out to your theme developer for support with this issue (meaning you may have to renew support with them), as we, unfortunately, can’t support theme conflicts on this forum.
Best of luck with your project! Let us know should you have any questions in the future!
Best,
Shelby π
