Heya @goutm! Interesting idea! This doesn’t sound to me like something that would be added to Gutenberg/Core, as it’s not likely something that the majority of WordPress users would need. The bar for adding new features to core is pretty high. 🙂
The good news is that since the Google Material icons are actually just a font, you could have access to the icons on your site by using a Google Fonts plugin like https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/easy-google-fonts/
Alternatively, you could try to find a developer who might be interested in creating a plugin to turn the icons into blocks, if that’s something Google allows, of course.
