Are you using the ‘feed’ option in the Publisher Center? And are you using the GN Publisher plugin?
The plugin tells Google to use whichever image you have selected in WordPress as the featured image in the article by marking it as the primary image. That usually does the trick.
If it isn’t working, or if you aren’t using GN Publisher, you might try loading the image you want used in inline html on the article page (you would need to do that anyway for Google News to use it) and then load the advertisement through javascript or css. Since Google News picks up the one in html, they should get the correct one,

I installed the plugin GN Publishe but I can’t find the way to make it work. So I uninstalled it. And google news continues to take the first image within the post and not the featured image. Therefore in google news appear titles that have no relevance to the image. How can I solve? Thank you
If you install and activate the plugin, you then click on the ‘info and settings’ link for GN Publisher on your plugins page. On that page, you will find the urls you can enter into the Publisher Center to use the feeds that it creates,
