    Hi,

    We are trying to setup express checkout with Stripe plugin, and during the testing, we noticed Google Pay popup doesn’t seem to work well with multicurrencies and the change of shipping address. When we change the country either on checkout or in the google pay popup itself, the currency doesn’t get updated so a customer would have to pay €80 instead of 80 CZK.

    Since our site is very plugin and custom changes heavy, we have also tested this on a different shop with default theme and checkout with same results.

    We are using Price based on Country plugin, but have tried different multicurrency plugins with the same results. The google pay integration seems to only work with the currency the page was originally loaded with.

    What can we do to solve this issue?

    We have tried testing this with a different Stripe integration plugin, and multicurrencies worked out of the box there.

    Hi @czjohns,

    I’ve checked our GitHub repository and it seems we already have an open issue that matches what you’re experiencing: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/issues/2806

    I also understand that your currency isn’t updating correctly, which is definitely not the expected behavior. Could you try setting your Default customer location to “Geolocate (with page caching support)”? This might resolve the issue you’re experiencing.

    The issue you linked seems to be different from the one we are experiencing. The currency is shown correctly in the cart / during checkout, but is not updating correctly in the Google Pay popup itself.

    And during testing we found out the same issue happens to Apple Pay as well.

    For example, a customer from Slovakia would see the prices in EUR, but if they select Czech Republic address in the Google Pay, which is fairly common, then the prices shown in the GPay popup are the ones for Czech Republic with EUR as a currency. So 80 CZK shipping (which is about 3 EUR) appears as 80 EUR shipping, which is a huge difference.

    Hi @czjohns,

    Thanks for getting back to us. I understand you are having trouble with the currency conversion in the Google Pay and Apple Pay popups on your checkout page. This sounds like a bug that might be related to the WooCommerce Payments plugin or the Google Listings & Ads plugin. We would like to investigate this further and see if we can replicate the issue on our end.

    To do that, we need some more information about your site and the plugins you are using. I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.

    This will help us to identify the cause of the issue and provide you with a solution.
