Google Plus website link

    Hey,

    Has anyone run into an issue with the “Link Your Website” feature of Google plus?

    I am not talking about authorship, but just linking to a website with the code snippet below.

    <a href="https://plus.google.com/xxxxxxxxxx" rel="publisher">Google+</a>

    I am receiving this message:
    Check that the line of code was added to your site’s homepage and that the modified homepage is live on your site. Then try testing again.

    If you look at the website source:

    website

    you will see that it is in there in this format
    <link rel="publisher" href="https://plus.google.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" />

    One added by WordPress SEO by Yoast and the other I added to the header.php.
    I added the top one because I didn’t think the Yoast one was being seen.

    Anyway, I also have the google+ buttons on the site.

    So I am not sure what exactly it is looking for. And from what I have read the link rel= code should be acceptable.

    Any ideas?

    I have run into the same issue, did you ever resolve this problem?

    When I setup google webmaster tools for this website, it verified the site through the tools.

    But, I never got the “Link Your Website” feature of google + to work. As I said above, the code was in there twice and according to what I read on various forums, the code should work.

    Use Google webmaster tools and download the html file corresponding to you verification.

    FTP the file to your public_html folder.

    Continue verification.

    Hi

    I need to link my website to my Google+ page. I copied the code which is showing on my website but when I clicked on “test website” the code is not working.
    I spent the whole day on this yesterday. Please help.
