Hi, the site admin set up Site Kit. I was to use it to set up Tag Manager and GA4. But I’m getting an error now. Screenshot attached.

Hello @samuelabrahamwp, thanks for opening a support topic. I’d be happy to help you with this. Please can you share the following information:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. The exact error you’re seeing and where you are seeing it. Feel free to share this as a screenshot to the private form.
    3. Do you have access to the connected GTM container and Analytics account/property?

Once you have shared the information I can review and suggest some next steps to take if there are any. Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Hi @adamdunnage, thank you for helping out.

    1. I’ve submitted the form to provide Site Health Information
    2. Error: “The request to the authentication proxy has failed with an error: site not found”
    3. Yes, I do. I’ve just taken over as digital marketer for this company. The plugin was installed and set up by the webmaster/web designer. I’m not sure if that individual had access to GTM container and relevant analytics account.

@samuelabrahamwp thanks for sharing the information. The “site not found” error you’re facing indicates that your site was previously connected, and when trying to communicate to set up the plugin once more, it’s not recognizing your credentials.

The first thing to try here before troubleshooting further would be to try performing a Site Kit reset. Once you have reset, please try setting up the plugin once more and let me know if you encounter the same error when trying to set up GTM and Analytics.

@adamdunnage Unfortunately I don’t have access to the settings to reset it.

@samuelabrahamwp i can’t see exactly from the recording you shared but are you not able to perform a Site Kit reset by going to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit?

If not then you can also try going directly to the this page which would be https://gigamex.se/wp-admin/tools.php.

@samuelabrahamwp Glad to hear that. Are you now able to set up Site Kit without facing the issue you faced previously?

@adamdunnage Yes, the reset worked and I’m now able to set up Site Kit. Thank you.
