Hello Google Site Kit Support Team,

I’m writing because the Site Kit plugin is not inserting either my Google Tag Manager (GTM) or Google Analytics code into my site, despite having enabled tag triggering on every page.

    Site Details

    • Consent plugin: Complianz with Google Consent Mode enabled

    What I’ve Configured

    1. In Site Kit → Settings → Tag Manager, I entered my GTM Container ID and enabled “Load Tag Manager on site.”
    2. I set the GTM trigger to fire on All Pages.
    3. In Site Kit → Settings → Analytics, I entered my Analytics Property ID.
    4. In Complianz, I’ve enabled Consent Mode for both GTM and Analytics.
    5. I’ve cleared all caches and verified in preview mode that tags should fire on every page.

    Troubleshooting Steps Taken

    • Disabled every other plugin one by one (and even all at once).
    • Disabled the Complianz plugin entirely.
    • Switched to a default WordPress theme (no custom code, no child theme).
    • Cleared server- and browser-level caches after each change.

    Actual Behavior

    • No <script> snippet for GTM appears in the page source.
    • No Analytics <script> appears either.

    Expected Behavior

    • Site Kit should inject both the GTM container snippet and the Analytics tracking code automatically on every page, respecting Consent Mode settings if configured.

Could you please advise what might be preventing Site Kit from inserting the tags? Let me know if you need any additional information or error logs.

    Thank you for your help,

I’ve already edited the google form

Thanks for reaching out @jacktaffa, and appreciate you sharing your Site Health information. From reviewing the details and inspecting your site both manually and via the tagassistant.google.com service, I can confirm the the snippet Site Kit would usually place is not indeed present, however, this seems to be based on your environment type being set to local. Site Kit will only place snippets for a live site, meaning your site must be set to production.

While we do have a GitHub issue which would output some messaging in such cases, however, given your site is live, have you considered changing your environment type? Your type may be configured in your wp-config file, at host level, or via a plugin.

Once you have your environment type changes, I’m happy to check your site once more. I did notice also that you’re using consent mode, meaning users from the EEU region, the UK and Switzerland will not be counted in Google Analytics traffic until they explicitly grant consent, although this is a separate topic and I’m only referencing this here given your comment on another topic whereby the users issue differs.

Do let me know if you have any questions with the above. Thank you. As mentioned, I’m happy to check your site once more after you update your environment type.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
