Google Webmaster — Verifying Ownership

    Does anyone know how to use the “meta tag” option or the “upload html to server” option for google webmaster tools…I do not have access to the hosting account but do have admin privileges for the blog. I am trying to find a way to submit the site to be indexed…

    Suggestions appreciated!

    if you don’t have server access you can’t do the upload

    but since you have admin, just go into the theme editor from WP admin screen appearance->editor, and bring up header.php from the list on the right

    Paste the meta tag code you get from google after this line:
    <meta name=”generator” content=”WordPress <?php bloginfo(‘version’); ?>” />
