Google Webmasters Tools says missing – Missing: author Missing: updated

Hello,

I’m running WP 3.8 and the latest Yoast plugin and I’m seeing an error in Google Webmaster Tools that says:

Missing: author
Missing: updated

I’m not sure where I forgot to add in that information. Any ideas how I add that to each post/page?

Hi Joseph,

the issue about “Missing: updated” might not be related to the SEO plugin but to your theme.
Depending on the theme you use, you might have to modify something there.

I had the same issue with the theme Customizr:

Hi,

I have the same problem as Joseph. I’m working with the Oxygen Theme – does anybody know where I can fix the problem with this theme?

Hello, I have the same problem and need help.
I have seen some forums where they say I have to update the file single.php but I don´t have that file.
Any ideas, please?

Has anyone found a solution to this?

I’m getting the following errors:

Error: Missing required field “updated”.
Error: Missing required hCard “author”.

I’m using Twenty Fourteen, WP 3.9.1with and a child theme. I’ve researched this for hours and I cannot seem to figure out how to fix it.

@joseph G and others, as Harry B. said the “issue” it’s theme related.
The more flexible solution I’ve found is this.
