Grabbing php avatars

Hi

I wonder if anyone could advise if I can use wp-w3all-phpbb just to place phpBB user avatars within my WordPress pages? Basically, I just want to place a miniature version of the avatar to the left of my the login (imitating phpBB login).

Any advice or pointers to documentation would be gratefully received.
