In the block editor, you can use theme colors for background solid colors, but gradients do not have that open.

I don’t see any issues with gradients, all theme’s gradients are available in background option of Greenshift . https://monosnap.com/file/6tv7U39OBdFMPatwlbNbLzIbToS5wJ

The themes gradient colors are ok, but when you want to click on a gradient point and the color picker comes up, it would be nice if the theme colors showed up there.

gradient picker is component of Gutenberg, it’s not controlled by plugin. You need to send suggestions to Gutenberg team
