Granting access to private groups

    I have a forum with Status-Open and Visibility-Hidden. I’m using bbp Private Groups and on a user’s WP profile page, checked the box “Click to add this group” for that Forum. Also indicated Forum Role-Participant. Yet, when logged in that user does not see the Forum. Tested with other users as well. However, when the role is moderator or keymaster, they can see the forum.

    Please advise.

    visibility – hidden is a bbpress parameter that makes forums only visible to moderators and keymasters, so I would expect that result.

    Depending on how you are set up, then public or private will be the setting you are after – try them both and see which suits you.

    Thank you. I guess I was confused. Somewhere I thought I had seen documentation indicating that while non-registered users could not access Topics in Private forums, they could see the titles of the Topics, which we were hoping to avoid. Ok I’ll do some testing. Great plugin!
