Great theme, fails at basic UX

    Overall, when I first saw the theme, I was really awe-struck by the design and felt quite pleased at it’s overall layout. The theme works well on both mobile, and desktop.

    However, I was surprised that the theme forced users to use aspects of the theme that should otherwise be optional. It is for that specific reason, I created my own child theme.

    My list of gripes:

    • Slider should be optional, and should NOT have default images.
    • Featured images ( thumbnails ) should be optional, and NOT have a single default image, or at the very least, allow the user to set that default image.
    • Social links should be hidden if the values are not set

    The Positives:

    • Really nice looking minimal theme
    • Works well with mobile devices
    • Would work GREAT with a basic blog
