• I started using Stream on a few sites in the summer of 2014. I thought it was a great way to keep track of changes on a multi-user site. However, since the 2.0 update, I had trouble connecting to WordPress.com to authenticate. I also don’t like this model and prefer to keep the logs locally. Unfortunately, there was no easy way to revert so I’ve removed Stream and will just do without it. I think a better model would have been to make the cloud and pay options a premium feature that allowed you to pay if you found the features worthwhile.

  • Hey sylviabass! I’m happy to help you out here.

    1. All WP.com connection issues should be resolved. We had a lot of people trying to sign up and had some signup downtime as a result. Please give it another go and let us know if you have any issues.

    2. You can easily install any past version of Stream by first downloading from GitHub. All past versions will be there, and we will never take them down. https://github.com/wp-stream/stream/releases

    3. The main reasons we went to the cloud were for security, scalability and performance. Not trying to change your mind, but do want to make sure you know all our reasons. I’d recommend taking a look at this interview where we go into detail about it all. http://wptavern.com/interview-with-stream-project-lead-frankie-jarrett

    Thank you for your comments!

    Hi sylviabass,

Thanks for your feedback. With Stream 3.0, we’ve rethought the way we’re handling the records. Everything’s local now, nothing stored in the cloud and no registration. I believe it should be fully HIPAA compliant.

It would be great if you could test it out, and let me know how you go. If you like it, please consider changing your review.

    Thanks,
    Luke
