Grid templates

    Is there any way to override the template in ‘/templates/front/recipe-single.php’ so that layout changes don’t disappear on update?
    I’ve looked through the sources and found the function in ‘includes/class.cooked-recipes.php’ responsible for loading the template, but it doesn’t seem to be hooked, therefore I can’t replace it without editing the plugins files.
