Groups and List Segmentation

    Having used your plugin on a couple of sites for clients, I decided to implement it on my latest site, however I have quickly run into a limitation as far as I can tell.

    Once I’d remembered how to create groups (not obvious from your plugin or documentation!!), I realise that an email subscriber can only be in one group at a time.

    The problem I have is that I want to have a system whereby email subscribers can be on several lists.

    My site is for helping with rehoming of stray dogs. Members register and create a profile in which they indicate where they are located and the kind of help they can give (e.g. rescue, shelter, foster, adopt, transport).

    Based on the help they indicate, I want them to receive an email each time a new dog is listed that is a match e.g. in their location and in need of a kind of help they are offering.

    But as different members can offer several types of help, without being able to add them into several groups, I can’t achieve this.

    I was hoping to be able to do it using your plugin but am I better looking at something like Mailchimp??

    Hi @dustycat,

    I realise that an email subscriber can only be in one group at a time.

    A Subscriber can be in multiple groups.

    If you want to add newer subscribers in multiple groups, then use Email Subscribers – Group Selector.
    It will extend Email Subscribers Form functionality by providing an grouping option right next to the form. The user can then subscribe to whichever group most appeals to them or can apply to all the groups that they like.

    For older subscribers, manually add them to other groups that you want them to subscribe them. (WordPress Dashboard -> Email Subscribers -> Add New Subscriber)
