    Hi πŸ˜€

I only want the admins to see some Custom Post Types, how do I do this from the GUI?

I entered in the CPT UI Add/Edit Post Types, selected the Post Type and went to settings where I set the Capability Type.

By default, the value is set to post.
By looking at WordPress Roles and Capabilities I understand that a subscriber can only read, a contributor can read, delete and edit and so on.
If I set the Capability Type to read, The Post Type is not available for any of the user types. Why?

The main question is: how do I set it, from admin GUI, so that it will only be shown to the admins and not to other inferior roles?

I searched it on internet and on WordPress Forum, but did not find what I seek.

    Thank you very much! πŸ˜€

    Hi @florinh

Honestly, the capabilities section of post types is one of our weaker spots as we don’t technically have 100% parity with all that can be configured with post types and taxonomies. I have an extension that I think/hope extends our core plugin to add that functionality if you’re willing to try it out. Alternatively, I believe something like https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/user-role-editor/ would also work here, and is much more well tested and hardened around changing these types of details around, and is worth checking out as well.

I installed the plugin and it works just fine. I do not have that problem anymore. πŸ˜€
