Document? What do you mean by document? Are you referring to a post?

Since the editor is not actually saving documents, then you really can’t do that.
The editor creates an entry in the database that you are editing. You can choose the title it has, which then dictates the permalink for displaying the information. The permalink (slug) can be changed, also, but it doesn’t leave the original and save it as the new one.
There are plugins that help you duplicate a post. The duplicate can then be edited to change the slug.
But basically, there is no built-in “Save As” that works like other programs that manipulate files.
Hello,
I guess I consider a document, Page, or post as one in the same.
There is a “Publish” button in the Gutenberg editor. This only saves the “Post” under the initial name.
Is there way to save the “Post” under a new name? Not a “user name”, rather a new filename that can then be chosen from the dashboard.

If you edit the post, under the title you will see a lug(url). You can edit it, and name it something else.
Joy,
Thank you for the explanation. It looks like yet another plugin. 🙂
