There are no plans yet for a specific “Gutenberg style” content block, since the shortcode is not just a simple element but embeds other elements and I don’t know yet how to this can be integrated as a content block.
However you still can use the old toolbar button by adding a “classic” block in Gutenberg. This will create a block where you have the classic WordPress editor including the Timed Content button in the toolbar.

I hoped this might work for me, too. But sadly not.
I put in the shortcodes in a classic block and tried also a shortcode block. But the content is shown, though. Seems as if all of the content has to be in a classic block then ? If so, this is not an option for me.
Any other options to keep on using this cool plugin ?

No, no other option. The Timed Content shortcode either shows or hides everything inside it. If this does not work in a “classic” block I don’t know either what to do. For me this works.
It does work in a classic block. But not this way:
classic block with shortcode to start timed content
gutenberg block with content
classic block with shortcode to end timed content
it also not works with:
shortcode block with shortcode to start timed content
gutenberg block with content
shortcode block with shortcode to end timed content
Yes, this is the expected result.
