• Hi, I am wondering that if I accidentally used a hacked plugin on the wordpress website, will it steal my database username and password or inject my scripts?

Is there any way to check if the plugin is hacked or not?

    Cheers!

  • What plugin are you referring to?

Rule of thumb is to download plugin only from the WordPress repository. All plugins are personally checked to make sure they meet the standards before being released to the public. This does not prevent the user from changing the code after it has been approved though. If you have a name of the plugin I will check it out.

When downloading a plugin from a website, make sure it is trusted. We will be more than happy to check it and see if it is dangerous or not. To answer your other question; YES! A plugin can steal your information. WordPress uses encryption for passwords so I would not worry too much about that but someone can gain all information for your site.

Have you used any hacked plugins? Which? Where did you download it from?
