Having to click Submit button twice

I have tried using the plugin and the short code as well as just pasting the code from Mail Chimp into my page. In either case the form shows up but users have to click on the submit button twice to get it to work. The button shows up large at first. Once clicked it shrinks and if you click it again it will submit the data.

It appears to be a Java Focus issue but I can’t tell how to fix this.
