    I think one of my sites has been hit by some worthless drain on society, it appears someone has hacked http://www.cairnssurfclub.com/ has anyone else been hit by this worthless lot calling themselves RC CLAN?

    The worst bit is that this website of a volunteer surf life saving organisation, I hope next time these losers go to the beach they get into some trouble and need to be rescued by the people they just screwed around.

    I have a one week old backup copy of backup of the site so nothing lost. I have the latest version of wordpress what else do I need to do to prevent this happening again?

    I had this happen to me a year ago (but not by rc clan).

    Here’s what I did….

    I retrieved the activity logs from my Host and pinpointed the IP Address of the culprit. This is pretty easy to do if you have some idea of when the hack occurred. Then, I banned that IP thru my Host.

    And of course, change your FTP login password to something ridiculously difficult…. and do that fairly often.
