• Hi Nick,

i am into relaunching my existing site and for that i use oceanWP and Elementor. Lucky me i tested it on a test-domain.
    What happend?
    – I designed the whole site with a specific header created in the My Library of the Ocean Extra Plugin.
    – I added into this header the “custom header nav” – which worked out
    – Then i went to the customizer and edit here the header and put the custom header in

And then the site and the customizer went crazy. I paused all plugins and figured out, that it is the Ocean Extra Plugin. Than i found what causes the crash. Its the “custom header nav”. After deleting it in my custom header everything worked fine. BUT i need the “custom header nav”.
I tried to fix it with deleting the existing custom header template and created a new one. But after doing what i described above, it crashes again. There is an error message written in the Custom Header Elementor template: In German it says: Ungültige Eingabe: Die Template-ID kann nicht dieselbe sein, wie der aktuell bearbeitete Templates. Bitte eine andere auswählen.
This means there is the same template-id in use at the moment. But i dont know what to do now.
I just created a new test-domain but everything went the same. What can i do? PHP Version is 7.2 and also testet with 7.3.
Please help me – i really want to us OceanWP with Elementor – but this drives me crazy.
    Thanks, Charly

Update: I forgot to mention, that when i am going to i.e. my homepage, there is an empty page. In the wordpress editor and elementor editor is content – but not if i go to my online page.

Here is the translated version of the error message in elementor with use of the “custom header nav”: Invalid Data: The Template ID cannot be the same as the currently edited template. Please choose a different one.

    Hello

Delete the custom header even from the trash. create a new one, this will resolve the issue. I had the same issue.

    Hi Amit,
sadly it doesnt work when i am delete it from the trash. First it is possible to add the custom header nav into the menu in elementor after deleting and creating a new template. But it only shows a number – dont know what this means.
Next i add the custom header in the customizer – after that, i have again the error in the custom header template and my site is loading a white page without any content.
If i start the customizer again it takes ages to load fully – and then there is this error message at the end of the page and my logo is shown 10 times.
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in wp-content/plugins/elementor/core/files/css/base.php on line 309

Its completely useless at the moment 🙁

Did you also delete the custom header from your Elementor > My Template if you saved it as Elementor Template?

Go to appearance > select a menu and set it as main menu again.

Update your permalinks structure – settings > permalinks > hit the save button.

Delete all custom template from both the library Theme Panel > my library and Elementor > my template even from trash.

Create a new template and check the site.

If nothing helps, open a pre-purchase ticket in oceanwp.org. The support team will ask you more details to fix the issue.

as soon as i add it in the customizer here: Customising ▸ Header Menu i will get the above mentioned error in the template.
And there is only a number shown in the header – no logo, no menu – no nothing – only a number 🙁

Did you update the menu in appearance > menus as I mentioned above?

Try clearing your cache and reload the site again.

Yes, i walked through your guide 2 times. also with clearing my cache. It shows the same error message in the template when it is active in the customizer.
But in the customizer there is no header shown from the template. right now, only the a number (7). No logo, no menu. no chance! 🙁
    But thanks for your help.
