Also adding that I left the page width to the default content width. I know I will need to use ‘contain’ but I don’t know the largest size I should use so it won’t look blurry on someone’s monitor.
Thanks
Hello,
You can try 1920x1080px image size and select transparent header style from the Customize > Header > General
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I increased the size of the image, and now it is possible to get it to go across the page without getting poor quality, but after adjusting the height of the menu there is a big white line on the left hand side of the header media area.
If I change it to cover it will cover it, but I want to keep it on contain instead so the whole image shows even on smaller screens.
The bottom of the header media image is also cut off and I can’t see where to increase the header media height area.
This is the page I’m trying to get work: http://patchwork2.acupunctureone.com/
Ignore the messy header image and page, it is definitely a work in progress.
Thank you
Edited to remove one issue I fixed. The rest what I list I’m still working on finding a solution.

If you don’t want to use the cover size, then try to add a larger image than this one.
That header media image is 2000 px across. I tried 2100px and up and it doesn’t give the don’t crop option. It did cover the entire area until I adjusted the height of the menu below it.
I guess I can change the height of the menu back, but I still am not sure how to adjust the height of the header media area to make it taller.
Thanks
I just took some screenshots of whats going on that might help. These two shots are the same image. They are both 2000px across. The only difference is the menu height. I included the slider so you can see which one it is and how it is affecting it.

Try to resize the image in a ratio – larger width than height and adjust it to fit the area.
