Header image will not size properly

    The Customization for the Cannyon theme says the ideal size for the header image is 9999 x 900px but when I create an image that size, the theme refuses to use all of it. And secondly, the image I did put in is all scrunched up on first viewing, and then when clicking on another URL and coming back, it flattens out properly. What is going on with this image?
