I am not providing a link to my staging site as it is Under Construction hence not accessible to the public.

I chose Kadence Blocks (free) for my new one ( 1) anchor page website based on some positive reviews I have seen online. Unfortunately, those reviews were on the previous version of Kadence, not the current 2026 one.

So far, I have spent over 10 hours on that one page with Chat GPT trying to figure out how to access the many hidden menus and settings, which appear and disappear in a counterintuitive and confusing manner under different names and in different tabs depending on what, where , how and in what sequence I click in the editor. Editing in this version of your plugin is nearly impossible unless you have an elephant memory and remember all the hidden settings and how to access them. I am human not AI.

I could not find anywhere online (even with AI help) any logical, comprehensive, step by step walk through all the functions and settings – a video tutorial or a written guide. So for me, using Kadence for the first time now is a frustrating guessing game taking up hours of my time.

If there is such a walk through guide or video for the current 2026 version, I would much appreciate if you could provide a link to it please.

Even AI could not find the correct solution to the header issue I have, giving me about 10 different ones none of which has worked (I think even it got frustrated) so I would appreciate if you could please give me the correct step by step instructions how to fix this.

I am using the 2026 Header (Adv) block. I need the header background to be Full Width (edge-to-edge, just like the footer) but the logo/menu content to be contained to 1200px. I have tried several different settings, including the ‘Layout Width’ in Page Settings but it stretches the logo and Call to Action button to the far corners, plus it also stretches every other row, which is not what I want. The ‘Inner Content Width‘ or ‘Limit Content’ options that Chat GPT asked me to look for are not shown in the right sidebar for the Header (at least, I was unable to find them).

    So my question is:

How can I stretch the Header (Adv) background to Full Width while constraining the content (logo, menu, call to action button) to a shorter width e.g.1200px, without affecting any other rows on the page?

In your solution, could you please include the instructions exactly how and where I can access the relevant settings.

Update – I just found in your online guide a picture of the right side bar for Header(Adv) under General tab showing Content Size Settings – which is exactly what I need. However, this tab in my sidebar looks completely different and does not have this setting at all.

So I can refine my question and split it into two:

    1. Where did you move this Content Size Settings to?
    2. Why is your online Guide so badly out of date, hence not useful at all and actually confusing?

    thanks

    hi @aapc

Thanks for your reply. I can see that my post has magically reappeared (it was definitely removed).

Anyway, as I said earlier I was able to fix this particular issue with a custom CSS provided by Chat GPT.
But since you have replied, I’ve got another question.

Could you please provide a link to the resource guide that explains how and where the various menus and settings appear and hide, depending on what is selected and where, what and how something is clicked and in what order.

it looks like the AI behind this “content-sensitive” design decides for the user which menu or setting they want to see or need and which they don’t. I find working in this sort of design hugely frustrating and time wasting, as without the clear instructions it’s a guessing game and repeating every move dozen times. The AI I’ve been using has confirmed that “Kadence hides certain settings when it believes are not needed” , which is crazy.

For example, yesterday I spent 30 minutes trying to find the setting I saw just once, and couldn’t never get it back again. It was the background image setting with “fill”, “contain”, “outline” etc. No matter where I was clicking, I could never get it back even when I deleted the image and started from scratch. That setting was still gone. In the end, I had to change the design of my site and forget the background image as I simply can’t spend hours just trying to figure out where Kadence is hiding the settings I need.

This is just one example. I note that in your other reply you didn’t address this design issue at all. It’s not a matter of not getting help on a weekend. It’s a matter of the current version of Kadence with no corresponding user guide being an extremely difficult platform to work with.

So again, could you please provide a link to the resource that explains all this with clear instructions – no guessing game.

    Thank you.

    Hi @alathea9

Thank you for following up. I can certainly understand how frustrating it is to feel like the tools you’re using are “hiding” things from you, especially when you’re deep into the design process.

To clear up any confusion: our product design does not use AI to decide when to hide or show settings. What you’re experiencing is “Conditional Logic.” Our developers purposely designed the interface this way to prevent the sidebar from becoming a mile-long list of irrelevant settings.

For example, in the Header (Adv) block, the sidebar changes based on your Background Type selection:

    • Color: Only shows color pickers.
    • Gradient: Shows color sliders, type and angle.
    • Image: When an image is uploaded/selected shows “Fill,” “Contain,” and “Cover”, etc…

    Without an image selected: https://share.zight.com/9Zu1mbbO
    With an image selected: https://share.zight.com/p9uJ6W0Y

If those settings vanished, it’s usually because the “Background Type” was toggled back to Color or the image was cleared. To find the background image settings again:

    1. Select the Header (Adv) Block (or the specific Row inside it).
    2. Go to the Style tab in the sidebar.
    3. Ensure Background Type is set to Image.
    4. Once an image is selected, additional options are shown where you’ll find Image Size (Cover, Contain, Auto), Attachment, and Position.

As requested, here is the primary documentation for the Header (Adv) block which outlines the various tabs and where settings live:

We strive to make Kadence intuitive, but we know “context-sensitive” design has a learning curve. If you find yourself stuck in the future, please let us know and we can provide screenshots and/or screenshare to point you in the right direction! For self-help, our Resource Hub is a great place to start.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

    Thanks!

    Hi @aapc

I have posted an urgent UPDATE on the other thread.

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/menu-updates-and-section-anchors-dont-work/#post-18882936

At this point, there is only one critical bug – HTML anchors are not working on the Homepage – menu items and the button (please read the details) that is holding back my site launch. Never mind the other issues, I can live with them.

As I said – the menus on the standard page do pick up the #urls so there is clearly a bug in the site Header.

I would appreciate your prompt reply providing just this one fix for both the menu labels and the button in the Header on the Home page.

    thanks
