On the full menu (for tablet and mobile view), I can still click in ‘disabled links’ which I don’t want to be clickable because it has sub-items menu. It works fine on desktop view (which is not set to a full menu but minimal menu only)

Hello,

Is it working with other styles like with sidebar?
Please go to Appearance > Customize > Header > Mobile menu, scroll down and set the mobile menu target as LINK, and check.
