    Hello,

Think I’ve missed/or missing something as on a fresh install with only installing your plugin and theme, How you you change the header menu? As nothing seems to lead to changing these from the imported theme that shows.

Thanks for your help with this

    Regards

  • Hi @ashbyvagg,

    Thanks for trying aBlocks.

On a fresh install with the theme + aBlocks, the header menu usually comes from the theme’s default navigation settings. You can change it by doing the following:

    1. Go to:
    Appearance → Editor (Site Editor)
Then open the Header template part.

    2. Select the Navigation block inside the header.
On the right sidebar, you’ll see the option to choose or edit a Menu.

    3. If you don’t see your own menu yet:
Go to Appearance → Editor → Patterns → Template Parts → Header, or
Go to Appearance → Menus (if your theme exposes it), and create a new menu there.
Then return to the Header and assign it to the Navigation block.

    4. After assigning the correct menu, save the template, and it should update across the site.

Hello @arafat22891 thanks for your reply,

Well there is a menu there, but it’s not the one that is showing, its the same as the one from the imported template.

Header menu did nothing or is the same as before.

    Appearance → Menus doesn’t exist.

I think you are using FSE/Block Theme that’s why Appearance → Menus doesn’t exist.

To change a menu in a WordPress block theme, use the Full Site Editor (Appearance > Editor), click the header/navigation area, and use the block editor to drag, drop, add, or remove items like pages, links, or buttons; then save changes

    Ok that gives me this:

But still gives me the same as in the op.

An surely you should know what’s installed as was a model from you. So why are these not showing on the front end? Why can I not change these, after all this is from the imported template.

Thanks again for your help. From a frustrated user.

    Hi @ashbyvagg,

Thanks for the update, and I’m really sorry for the frustration — let’s sort this out step-by-step.

    1. Go to aBlocks, then theme builder, screenshot.
    2. Then edit the header, screenshot.
    3. Then edit with aBlocks, screenshot.
    4. Then you can change/delete/add the menu easily, screenshot.

If you still face any issues, then reach out to our Support Portal, and we will change the menu according to your requirements with high priority.

We look forward to your valuable response.

    Thank you!

    Hello @arafat22891,

Thanks for your message I’ve finally got back round to looking at this the theme builder, was not active as standard I had to activate it in the add ons. Then the other option were not in there as it was not active in the first place. So my question is how do I now get the header to show here? As on the add new => header I get ‘Theme builder features like header, before footer, and footer require a Classic theme. It won’t work with FSE themes.’ But I’ve only got the themes the came with wordpress installed and the plugins ‘your plugin’ has installed.

Thanks again for your help with this ongoing issue.

    Hi @ashbyvagg,

Thanks for the update — this explains everything!

You’re using a Block / FSE theme (default WordPress themes), and aBlocks Theme Builder (header/footer) works only with Classic themes. That’s why you see this message and why the header won’t show.

    In short:

    • FSE theme → Header is edited via Appearance → Editor (WordPress Site Editor)
    • Classic theme → You can use aBlocks → Theme Builder → Header

    What you can do:

    • Stay on your current FSE theme and edit the header in Appearance → Editor
    • Or switch to a Classic theme (Astra, Hello, GeneratePress classic) to use aBlocks Theme Builder

Nothing is broken — it’s a theme compatibility limitation.

    Thank you!
