yesterday I got an error message with jetpack. I had to inform my hoster to deactivate jetpack-plugin, to be able to open my site again.
Hear is the message I got with the error:
“Ein Fehler vom Typ E_COMPILE_ERROR wurde in der Zeile 67 der Datei /www/htdocs/w014ccc8/WordPress_01/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/load-jetpack.php verursacht. Fehlermeldung: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/www/htdocs/w014ccc8/WordPress_01/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack-admin.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php:..’)”

The error occured after I had updates to latest wordpress-version.
Maybe also be, it could have something to do with the fact, that there was a message on dashboard, that I should update my php-version with the hoster.

    What can I do?

    Thanks

    Regards
    Axel

    Hi Axel,

What’s your site’s address so I can have a look?

    It’s http://www.wkfm.eu
As I said … they deactivated jetpack-plugin, so now it can be viewed again.

Please make sure that you were running Jetpack 8.8.1. We introduced several compatibility fixes for WordPress 5.5.

    It is 8.8.1 installed there.

When I try to reactivate the plugin, it says, it can’t be reactivated, because it produces a fatal error. The error message displayed, is

Warning: require_once(/www/htdocs/w014ccc8/WordPress_01/wp-content/plugins/_jetpack/class.jetpack-admin.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/w014ccc8/WordPress_01/wp-content/plugins/_jetpack/load-jetpack.php on line 67

    /wp-content/plugins/_jetpack/class.jetpack-admin.php

That’s definitely wrong, it should be:

    /wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack-admin.php

Please try deleting and reinstalling it.

Seems it can be as simple as that.
    Thanks a lot!
