    Hello there!

I activated and enabled Comet Cache plugin. However, I got two notices as follows:

“It appears that your server is running NGINX and does not support .htaccess rules. Please update your server configuration manually. If you’ve already updated your NGINX configuration, you can safely ignore this message.”

“Failed to update your /wp-content/advanced-cache.php file. Most likely a permissions error. Please create an empty file here: /wp-content/advanced-cache.php (just an empty PHP file, with nothing in it); give it permissions 644 or higher (perhaps 666). Once you’ve done this, please try again.”

Are these notices indicate that this plugin is not working? What must I exaclty do at this point? It seems complicated to me 🙂 Honestly, I built my website about 10 days ago and have no great knowledge of technical issues. Thank you!

  • @sercanercinler Comet Cache cannot modify your NGINX server configuration, so it displays that message when you’re running NGINX. Please see our recommended NGINX configuration for Comet Cache KB article.

If you’re not comfortable (or able) to modify your NGINX configuration, I recommend contacting your web hosting company and providing them with a link to that KB article.

@sercanercinler This error message indicates that Comet Cache is not able to update the files necessary to enable caching because it does not have permission to do so. You will need to contact your web hosting company about this as well.
