Could be many things.
A hack of your site, a conflicting plugin or theme, could be extra spaces in the file.
Disable all your plugins, and choose a default theme.
Also, navigate to that file, and compare with the WordPress file here :

You are completely AMAZING “corrinarusso”… I was able to get back into the admin side. But now how do I get it all back with plugins & theme reset back to what it was?
Download / add the plugins back in one by one until you find the culprit.
OK. So I went back in & changed the theme back but DURRRR it just goes right back to the error. So something has happened to my theme? I am assuming… So are you able to offer me any help from here? I was using the Jupiter theme…
Jupiter is a commercial theme, so you will need to ask them:
https://themeforest.net/item/jupiter-multipurpose-responsive-theme/5177775
In the meanwhile, just use a a different theme.
Or once I activate all the plugins then maybe it will fix itself? Because I activated the theme and it immediately gave me a bunch of codes and most my editing was missing. So should I keep the theme activated (jupiter) and then add the plugins one by one to get everything back that it is missing WITHOUT the plugins activated ?
I can’t begin to tell you how much you have helped me. It isn’t my theme. It is my two slider plugins… “layer slider wp” & “master slider pro”…
I am just so grateful that I am actually in the admin and was able to at least get most everything back to normal, other than the sliders…
Great!
There are certainly no shortage of replacements :

I’m not sure if you can help me with this as well, but it’s THE LAST thing that is now errored on my site. Line 227 is empty. And I google it but can’t find what this means…
Warning: “continue” targeting switch is equivalent to “break”. Did you mean to use “continue 2”? in /home/alexandria/public_html/cr/wp-content/themes/jupiter/framework/includes/minify/src/Minifier.php on line 227
This is not an error, it’s a warning.
Are you seeing this on the frontend or the backend ?
First, I would login to my host and upgrade my version of php.
For example :

If it continues to show on the frontend, just do this :
