We urgently require your assistance with the following issue regarding our LifterLMS course, which is currently live with students.

We have set up an automatic process where course materials are released gradually as students pay for the monthly membership. A few materials are available immediately, and subsequent materials are released every seven days.

When the month changed, the 7-day timer for the course materials reset, and students were not able to access the materials for the second month despite having paid for the next month’s membership. Instead, they could only see the initial materials, as their course restarted.

As an emergency measure, we had to remove all future materials and disable the 7-day timer in the settings.

Now, all first-month materials are visible to new students enrolling in the course, and we cannot release the second-month materials because the course also includes students who have just started.

Where can we manage the setting so that the course does not reset this timer every month but continues as long as the student pays for the membership? Could there be another factor resetting this progression for the students? Where should we start looking to fix this issue?

I have already reached out via chat at (https://lifterlms.com) and send email, but have not received a response, and our situation is critical!

We are urgently trying to determine the cause of the course materials reset issue, fix it, and ensure this does not happen again in the future. Can anyone assist us? We are awaiting your prompt response.

    Best regards, Mari W, Finland

    Hi @winterfin,

Could you remember the ticket number when you sent your ticket at lifterlms.com/my-account/my-tickets? I’m not able to see any unanswered tickets in our support inbox at the moment. So, I’m wondering if your ticket submission somehow went elsewhere in our system.

For the mean time, I understand that to implement the “7-day timer”, you are using LifterLMS drip functionality for lessons, as documented in lifterlms.com/docs/use-drip-content-lifterlms-lessons. Is this correct? In this case, please note that drip settings are not affected by monthly subscriptions. We also do not have any setting anywhere where subscriptions can be tied to drip settings.

In this case, we wonder if this is a theme conflict or a plugin conflict. To be sure, you can try to rule out theme conflicts and plugin conflicts. You can temporarily put your website in maintenance mode while performing the troubleshooting steps below.

    • Rule out potential theme conflicts. Please temporarily switch from your current theme to any other default theme (e.g., the Twenty Twenty-Five theme) on your WordPress site. Then, check your website again. If the problem disappears, then there might be some conflicts with the theme. If there are theme conflicts, please update the conflicting theme if there are updates available. If the update does not fix the issue or if there are no updates available, please reach out to the support team of the conflicting theme. Please also let us know about the conflict.
    • Rule out potential plugin conflicts. If the issue persists after you switched to a default theme, please deactivate all plugins on your website except the LifterLMS core plugin and any LifterLMS payment gateway add-on you are using for subscriptions. Check to see if the issue disappears. If the issue disappears, then there is a plugin conflict somewhere. If there is a plugin conflict, reactivate each plugin one at a time until the problem re-appears. If you find the conflicting plugin, please update the conflicting plugin if there is an update available. If the update does not fix the issue or if there are no updates available, please reach out to the support team of the conflicting plugin. Please also let us know about the conflict.
