Help Creating Custom Client Area with Plugins

Hi All,

Thanks in advance for your intelligence and ingenuity. First time WP user, with a background in python and some tech chops. I don’t currently work in php, but I would be willing to learn.

I’m making a small frontend for a little service-app I’ve developed. I need an online space for clients to
-log in
-edit 1-20 form-like documents

The documents contain information the app will use – a number of written information fields, dropdown menus, and up to 20 uploaded images. This information will be stored in a database, tagged by their email and the id of the document.

Questions:
Can I build this by stringing together plugins, or will I have to build a custom solution?

What advice do you have? What would your approach be?
