help finding solution for multi user multisite

Hello,

i have a main site with, let’s say, 200 users. each of them has a subscription account. this account expires after a year if they don’t pay the subscription.(the plugin is “Expire Users”) and it’s working properly.

on demand i need to make a personal minisite for each of the 200 users (exemple: mainsite.com/username1)
(layout with user name, user photo, menu and some pages) the site must be public and the “username1” user must have editor(or better) role to edit pages content.

it will have it’s own menu but it can keep the main menu of the site.
it needs a different layout

and it must be the fastest way to make 200+ subsites for me

the user can be the same for main site and personal “minisite”?

what can be the best solution?
making a new installation of wordpress in a subfolder maybe it’s too much.

this can be done without a multisite?

if it needs a multisite, what’s the best way to do it?
looks like a multisite is really the best option, but i’ve never made one so i’m not sure if it’s the right path (i didn’t ask on the multisite forum because it say that i need a network already running)
