[HELP] How to post-process images after upload (crop) ?!?

    Hello.
    I was wondering if it’s possible to write a plugin or similar in PHP that splits an image uploaded for a post into a grid of images.
    The concept is similar to the one of the puzzle:
    I have a 600x300px image and I divide it into 8 squares of 150x150px each.

    I never wrote a pluging so please be exhaustive in your replies 🙂

    I further need to be able to acces those images from The Loop.
