HELP – installed BPS and now all I see is PHP Code

    Hi – I installed BPS latest version for the first time on my site, now all I get is php code displayed on every page. Running the latest version of word press.

    This is the only thing I did, nothing else. Install, activated and did the “simple” steps to configure.

    Anyone ever seen this issue? could not find it in the logs.

    The server is an Apache server.
    Built With does not show that WordPress is installed on this site.
    A DNS reverse lookup does not show a domain name for this IP.
    The host is IX.
    Google site operator search: site:50.118.48.87 shows 5 indexed pages.
    The site search shows that the 5 Google indexed pages are/were displayed in a site index at some point.
    Last Google cache date for the 5 indexed pages is: Aug 2, 2015 23:24:53 GMT
    Google webcache snapshot: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:edTP0TsNfKsJ:50.118.48.87/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
    indexed phpinfo: http://50.118.48.87/phpinfo.php does not indicate a server compatibility problem, but also does not show whether or not WordPress is installed or installed correctly.

    At this point I am unable to tell whether or not WordPress is currently installed on your server or whether or not WordPress is installed correctly.

    To completely remove the BPS plugin manually do these steps:
    1. Delete the /plugins/bulletproof-security/ plugin folder.
    2. Delete the root folder htaccess file and the wp-admin folder htaccess file.

    Is the issue/problem still occurring or is it resolved?

    Comments: The problem appears to be a WordPress installation problem. ie WordPress is not installed or configured correctly.

    Site is up, but WordPress is NOT installed on this site.
    Problem appears to be that a compatible MySQL database is NOT available on this server to complete the WordPress setup installation or the database connection information in the wp-config.php file is incorrect.

    Error establishing a database connection
    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    Are you sure that the database server is running?

    Comments: non-BPS plugin problem, but if WordPress is not already setup then the wp-admin htaccess file will prevent/block the WordPress setup/installation files. WordPress needs to be installed and working on a website before BPS BulletProof Modes are activated. Thread has been resolved.
