• I installed WP on our server; but it took over the “main” page our company website – when I really just wanted WP on a subdomain of ours. Does anyone know who I can changes this? Do I need to uninstall then reinstall?

  • Technically, Moving WordPress, has the info you need.

Unless you have a lot of posts etc, then a reinstall might be just as easy.

how do you uninstall? i typed unstall in the “search” and directions did not come up. I do not have any posts as I just started this today and i am trying to figure it all out.

Using FTP delete the folder (or folders).

    Using phpMyAdmin, DROP the tables.

I was able to unstall thank you.
Here’s the problem. I reinstalled it on the (ie. AGsite.com
but under this…. we have other domains such as meal.com; latinroots.com etc….

so now i’ve installed wordpress successfull under the “root” arnoldgrant.com in a directory called “wordpress”. I then followed your “move” directions that you advised about. I changed the index.php file to reflect wordpress in it… i also copied the httaccess file over to the folder for meal.com.

this is the message i get:
Warning: main(./wordpress/wp-blog-header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/arnoldgr/public_html/meal/index.php on line 4

Warning: main(./wordpress/wp-blog-header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/arnoldgr/public_html/meal/index.php on line 4

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wordpress/wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/arnoldgr/public_html/meal/index.php on line 4

I don’t understand what are you messing around with…
The Moving… instructions were for the case you do NOT want to uninstall.

Since you uninstalled it and installed it in another location – what are you trying to do?

    I have a hosting account; arnoldgrant.com
under this; i have other domain names that are set up as subdomain pointers.

i installed WordPress on the main hosting account: arnoldgrant.com – because it only let me do it in the root directory.

i want to set up a blog for 3 other seperate domain names:
meal.com etc… which are all under the directories of arnoldgrant.com
