At the top of the APS settings page you should see something like
Current Status: Enabled
Current server time:2014-12-03 10:41:39 America/New_York
Next auto post check:2014-12-04 08:41:38 America/New_York
If not please copy/paste what you see. If your timezone isn’t set in Dashboard->Settings->General it should default to UTC.
Thanks for the quick reply. I had it disabled until I got a response here. I just re-enabled it, here’s the copy/paste:
Current Status: Enabled
Current server time:2014-12-03 09:47:09 America/Chicago
Next auto post check:2014-12-03 09:47:09 America/Chicago
Okay that tells me you have ‘Start Scheduling Delay’ set as 0, so by the time you read this it should have triggered and checked eligible post statuses for posting/recycling.
Do you have “Eligible Post Statuses?” with ‘Publish’ checked?
If so your log file should show something like
2014-12-03 10:52:41 – POST id 1597 RECYCLED: ‘here1’
That fixed it – I didn’t have any “eligible Post statuses” checked.
I had that checked at one point and nothing happened. I think it was because even though the log shows that an option has been changed nothing really happens until the plugin is disabled and then started again.
Then, in the annotation under the recycle checkbox it says:
“Will ONLY be used if no eligible posts are checked OR there are no eligible posts left to publish.”
I was unclear as to the exact meaning of this, and since nothing was happening that maybe it meant that if one of the “eligible post statuses” was checked that the “recycle” wouldn’t work – it would only take place if no eligible posts were checked. So I unchecked them all.
Anyway, I think it’s working now. I appreciate the plugin as I have around 1000 posts I want to republish one day at a time.
Ah yes that description was written before those options were added, so I can understand a little confusion. I’ll clear it up for next update. Glad to hear it’s working as you need.
Thanks again for the quick and helpful replies.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
