I have NO idea how this happened or what I did, but something has altered the style.css link in the header on certain browsers, namely Internet Explorer and Chrome. As a result, those browsers are ignoring the CSS stylesheet and the site is rendering incorrectly.

Firefox, naturally, seems to be fine.

On browsers that still render the site correctly, the style.css link looks like this:

    http://imblacknitravel.com/wp-content/themes/twentyten/style.css

On the ones that are incorrect, it looks like this:

    http://imblacknitravel.com/wp-content/w3tc/min/21b578ffb3d3e4afb50cb916a96d95f2.1874100831.css

And when you click on the latter one, instead of seeing the stylesheet, you get an error message:

    “Bad file param format.”

I tried reloading the template. It didn’t help. I need to fix this URGENTLY. It is drastically disrupting my site.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

It’s your cache plugin, change minify to manual… http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/page-cache-url-rewriting-is-not-working

    General”->”Minify”->”Minify Mode”->choose “Manual

    Then clear the cache.

No joy. I deactivated all the plugins. I switching the Minify to manual and emptied the cache. Can’t see IE, but it’s still not rendering properly on Chrome.

I’m already using the Twenty-Ten theme, but I haven’t tried reloading it. That’s next.

Found I had two versions of Twenty GTen installed. Deleted them both and tried to re-install it. Got this error message:

    “Destination folder already exists. /home/content/97/5860197/html/wp-content/themes/twentyten/

    Theme install failed.”

    I am totally lost here.

Re-upload a fresh copy of Twenty Ten using FTP or use whatever file management application your host provides.

Was able to reload Twenty Ten version 1.1, but the same CSS problem recurs. Deactivated it and switched to a different theme. Problem appears to be solved. I could be wrong, but I think there’s some sort of bug in Twenty Ten now. anyway, the other theme works, so I’ll stay with that until I see a new version of Twenty Ten.

Many thanks to esmi and theApe for your help. This is the BEST online community around, period.

The current version of Twenty Ten is 1.2.

    I can’t find version 1.2, only 1.1.

    (@esmi)

Hmmm… no idea why version 1.2 isn’t in the Theme Repo. If you drop me a line at esmi at quirm dot net, I’ll mail you a copy.
