Help needed for installing wordpress in root directory

I have purchased a domain and bokked server space with windows hosting using Pleask 8.6
It allows standard installation of wordpress2.0 and I have done so.
before installing I have specified

Destination directory : wordpress
Db Name,
Db Login name
Db password

in Admin Preferences:
Admin Login and Admin Password
And the website title.

The application has been installed in the directory:
./httpdocs/wordpres

I would like to default the wordpress application whenever someone keys in my Url.
This is not happenening and it shows the blog is:
http://www.myurl.com/wordpress instead.
Can someone please guide me.

Also is it possible to install the latest wordpress release without using the package application provided by my web host…Pleask control panel?
