• My website is cmeforpa.com

I have the Customizr theme and just started using Childify child theme. I was trying to edit the function.php file and got this dreaded message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home1/manganollc/public_html/cmeforpa.com/wp-content/themes/trial-and-error/functions.php on line 32

and can no longer access my site whatsoever. As this was my first attempt at trying a childtheme and it was clearly unsuccessful, I’m scared to even attempt to use any additional code to recover the site. As far as I know, I can’t recover through wordpress. I don’t know what to do.

    Please help!!! 🙁

  • You can undo the edit to the file by using your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel. If that fails, you can rename or remove the active theme folder and then go to yoursite.com/wp-admin and log back in. The default WordPress theme should take over and put you back in control.
