parse syntax error

I was trying to customize the footer on my site and I copied some .php code into the editor. When is saved changes this error came up:

” Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas06_data02/37/3021937/html/wp-content/themes/edin/inc/jetpack.php on line 85 “

I don’t have WP downloaded on my computer. I ALWAYS just upload online…I’ve seen other suggestions on here about changing the .php file…but if I can’t even login, how is that possible?

How can I fix this and go back to how it originally was?!? I really need to get this back to the functioning site ASAP! I have no coding experience.

Can someone please help??
