    Hello,

when I try to issue a refund for an order made by a customer via PayPal—specifically using your plugin—the refund does not work correctly. Instead of being sent back to the customer’s PayPal account, it is issued only as store credit.

Refunds for card payments (Woopayments), on the other hand, work correctly.

Could you please help me understand why this happens and how to properly process PayPal refunds?

    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Andrea

    Hi @pacman94

Thank you for contacting Payment Plugins. The PayPal plugin is not the reason a store credit is being issued. PayPal has a single refund API and this plugin issues a request to that API endpoint.

It sounds like you might have a setting in your PayPal business account that’s controlling that.

Where is this store credit appearing? In the customer’s PayPal account?

    Kind Regards

    Hi @pacman94

That is not an order note that is being added by the PayPal plugin. It seems you have a 3rd party plugin that’s taking control of the refund process and causing that behavior.

If you’re using a coupon plugin make sure there isn’t a setting that requires you to exclude gateways.

    Kind Regards
