    Hi I recently connected google analytics through sitekit plugin on wordpress. there is data showing in sitekit but not in GA it’s just saying “Data collection isn’t active for your website. If you installed tags more than 48 hours ago, make sure they are set up correctly.” Does anybody know what’s wrong with this and why it’s showing in sitekit but not GA?

    Thanks for reaching out @swptw. If you’re seeing data witin the Site Kit dashboard, you should be seeing data from analytics.google.com, which is the source where Site Kit pulls data from. To troubleshoot this further for any potential issues and to ensure we’re looking at the same Google Analytics property, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.  
    2. If you click on the ”Source: Analytics” link within the Site Kit dashboard, do you see any recent data from the Analytics directly? Feel free to share a recording of you clicking on this link if you wish. You can use a service such as Imgur or Jumpshare. You can share via the same form if you wish to share this privately.
    3. When did you connect the Analytics module within Site Kit?

    I did also check your site manually and visa the tagassistant.google.com service, and I can confirm that site visits are recording in Google Analytics, so it may just be a case of waiting for data to display if it’s only been connected recently.

    Appreciate the update @swptw. All looks good with regards your configuration, and given you only connected Site Kit yesterday I suspect it’s just a matter of waiting another day or so. If you wish I can check up with you on Monday to ensure data is reporting?

    Perfect! I’ll reach out to you on Monday then. In the meantime, I do expect data to start appearing. It’s quite normal to take time to gather data for a site. The snippet as placed via Site Kit does appear on your site as expected, without modification.

    I did also notice another snippet on your site, likely via Monstor Insights. While this shouldn’t impact the Site Kit placed snippet, or Analytics reporting on the Site Kit placed snippet, let’s follow up on Monday.

    With regards to removing your website or details from a support topic, unfortunately this isn’t something I can do. You can ask the moderators over the ww.wp.xz.cn Slack channel, specifically #forums.

    For security and anonymity reasons, I’d like my domain to not be listed publicly/to those logged in that can view it. Not sure why this would be an issue removing and would really appreciate it. I don’t mind if the topic stays up, just my domain.

    This is not an extreme case. Please be aware that the link “The page I need help with:” cannot be seen by search engines and is only visible to users logged into the support forums.

    Users should be told this beforehand or given the option to not include a domain in their support question then. Pretty annoying of WordPress to do that to their users, it’s never been an issue for me before on other platforms to remove a domain for privacy.
