Would like the following:

Applying CSS on WordPress. What peculiarities are there? What non-standard way?

A good, raw beginner’s CSS tutorial.

Any other leads you think would help.

Learn how to enqueue your stylesheet:

Then it’s just CSS as you would learn for any type of website. You’re just targeting HTML. The content management system is irrelevant.

I thank you, however, I don’t do well with just basic instructions, demonstrations do better. Any such out there?

Yeah maybe this forum: http://www.cssforum.com.pk/

On ww.wp.xz.cn forums we can give you CSS solutions but we’re probably not the best for teaching CSS.
