  • Hi @userphila thanks for reaching out. I’d be happy to look into this for you if you could share the following:

    1. Your Site Health Information using this private form. Please also include your hosting provider on the form.
    2. Are you able to publish any Stories after following the troubleshooting steps here?
    3. Are you able to publish any Stories when accessing via an Incognito browsing window?

Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

    Hi Adam

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it!

    1. I’ve filled out the form and included my site health information.
    2. I went through all the troubleshooting steps, while the WebStories plugin was in Troubleshooting mode my Web Story said it had no issues (previously it had the error in debug mode) but when I check or try to inspect the page in Google Search Console I still get the same error.
    3. Using an incognito browser didn’t make any difference.

Any more help would be greatly appreciated, I really want to start publishing Web Stories, thanks again!

    Phil

@userphila Thank you for submitting the information. I can see that your site is using the following caching & optimization plugin: W3 Total Cache.

Could you please go to your Plugins page and disable this plugin then retest your story URL once more at https://search.google.com/test/amp ?

    Hi @luckynasan

Thanks so much for your reply, I really appreciate it.

I disabled the W3 Total Cache plugin and retested my story and it came back as ‘Web Story is Valid’ with a green tick!

One thing I noticed, however, is that when I reactivate the W3 plugin the story only has 4 of the 7 slides when I go to the live URL.

    Is there a permanent solution?

Many thanks again for taking the time to help me out with this issue!

    Phil

@userphila Nice work, this indicates that there is a conflict here with the W3 Cache plugin. This could be related to a particular setting in the plugin so you could try switching off certain settings to see if they are the cause. I would first check the minification settings which can be found at performance > Minify. We have seen in the past that minifying CSS and JavaScript can cause issues with Stories.

I would also recommend reaching out to the W3 Cache support forum who will be able to assist you further with this.

Thanks @adamdunnage , again, I’m very grateful for the time you and @luckynasan have spent helping me – I shall now speak with W3 Cache support!
