help with excerpt (content)

Hi,
Thanks so much for your plugin, it is the first to work on my theme, i am using the alchem business theme for my site, I am using your plugin for the lastest posts on my home page, i have 2 separate categories to show, the news and the views. I have managed to sparate them with your plugin, I have selected that the title and a short excerpt show.The title is showing just fine however the excerpt is missing, I looked at other questions you have answered and found you gave someone the code display=”title,content-small” this worked for me but there are only 5 words displayed, i have specified : chrlimit=”20″ but this doesn’t change anything.
This is the shortcode I was given for my news and views (with my change on the display.):

Please give me a sample of an news content that should appear longer in the tile. I am interested in the exact content (the HTML content), not the editor preview, as I want to identify if there are special spacing/chars or other tags in it that might be interpreted as words.
Also, let me know if for the news you use excerpts or just post content (the description field).
