I signed up with a hosting provider earlier and I just couldn’t get the blog up and running. Thought it would have been easy as the wordpress.com. Anyone can shed some light on how do i customize and design my blog after the hosting comany?

Is your domain name pointing to your host or wordpress.com
Yes, I did have my domain name from my host point to my website that then changes it into blog.xxxx.com. I think designing ww.wp.xz.cn is more my problem or gettuing it ready to launch . Thank you for responding.
when you create subdomain name there is folder created in root you need install wordpress in that folder
Is it right to say that you don’t really use WordPress from your desktop but rather you use it as an online tool?
Why do we have to install it on our pcs?
It’s murder to do this!
Am I not able to create my websites offline and then upload them?
Help please.
So I don’t really need WordPress on my pc?
I can log in and create sites?
Is that right?
Normally installing wordpress on your computer is for testing purposes for advanced users or for learning wordpress if you are a beginner and do not have host account.
So I don’t really need WordPress on my pc?
I can log in and create sites?

Yes if you have your own domain name and host account then you can install wordpress on host account no need to install server on your computer.
I hope I didn’t sound too tetchy but this is infuriating.
Now, you’ve answered a lot of questions for me so far. Thank you.
How, then, do I install WP onto my PC for learning and practice?
I can’t open it up in any shape or form.
After learning and testing should I delete it? Will it delete easily – are all the components in one folder?
Thank you,
Zarkle
You need install a server on your computer depending what you using on windows you install Wamp on Mac You install Mamp once you have installed you install wordpress same way you install on host account in root in folder.
Thank you all for your help and advise. I decided to go with Godaddy, and one of their tech support guy was helpful. He walked me through the whole process. I knew this whole time this shouldn’t be rocket science. Now I’m up and ready to go. Thanks again for your help !
Hi,
I think I’m at the stage this guy is at.
I am being hosted with Laughing squid,It’s all set up but when I get to the last bit of the installation-the php bit I don’t know what I’m looking at.
I’m on the phpMyadmin bit & don’t know how to proceed from there.
I have one of these pages:mysql.dfw1-1.websitesettings.com
But what do I do with it?
I’m getting a bit frustrated.
I’m a fast learner so give it to me straight & I’ll do it!!!
I need to install a server on my PC correct?
***SIGH***SOMETHING LIKE THAT?***
If you have host account and Damian name no need to install wordpress on your PC only time want to install on PC is for testing like all Pros do or for learning.
Yes I have domain & host account & realise I was wrong with the server bit(can’t turn my iis off(?)now.sigh.
The lady at Laughing Squid say’s I shouldn’t even be on the phpMyadmin page…but didn’t say anything else.
I don’t want to hassle them, they don’t charge enough for my barrage of s**te.Bless em.
So what have I done wrong?
How do upload WP using Filezilla, exactly?
I’m gonna sleep on it…It’s 1.27am here so…
Would love some answers in the morning though!
Thanx in advance.
