Help with removing 2 buttons?

I don’t want to pay for a security certificate- so 2 buttons must be removed. Upon adding an item to cart you’ll see on cart page “ proceed to checkout” “or”
I need those 2 things removed so it’s just pay with PayPal.
Additionally, the shopping cart widget drop down- also has a broken button “check out” I think “or” is there too.
I’ve gone thru 20 live representatives, I’m incredibly frustrated how difficult it is for tech support to assist in resolving this issue.
Currently made storefront theme into child theme since someone said I had to do that but now I’m lost.
