    Hi

Our site is set to send outbound email through our Gmail account.

After sending a test message to our MS-hosted company email through wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp-mail-smtp-tools&tab=test there are the messages:

    SPF

Action Needed: It doesn’t look like the SPF record required by Google has been added to your domain. Please check out Google’s SPF guide for details on how to add this record to your domain’s DNS.

    DKIM

Action Needed: It doesn’t look like the DKIM record required by Google has been added to your domain. Please check out Google’s DKIM guide for details on how to add this record to your domain’s DNS.

Do these messages refer to the SPF & DKIM records of our website’s domain, or to gmail.com?

Our SPF records look healthy. How do we adjust these records so that our website will send through Gmail?

Our DKIM does not look healthy. The Google doc about DKIM mentions generating a DKIM key through the Google Admin Console. Does this apply to our domain? If not, how do we generate a DKIM key or TXT record to add to our DNS?

Altnernatively, it may be better to switch to sending through “365 / Outlook” and authenticating using an email on our own domain.

    Help appreciated.

  • Hi there @srd75,

In each of those warnings, you’ll see a link that takes you to a Google guide. What you’ll need to do is follow those guides to add the Google SPF and DKIM records to your existing DNS. For the SPF, we have a guide here on merging them:

    https://wpmailsmtp.com/fix-multiple-spf-records/

For further assistance with Google DNS, you can try reaching out to their team. They’ll be able to help you get them added to your DNS.

I hope that helps! Have a great day
